What to know before you join the course
Answers about who the course suits, how the practice sessions run, what you will be able to do afterwards and how the modules fit together.
Questions from prospective learners
These answers cover prerequisites, session format and outcomes. If something is missing, the contact page is the quickest way to ask the instructors directly.
Do I need event experience before starting?
No. The course begins with project stages and briefs, so you can start from scratch. Some learners already work in marketing or creative teams and want to run launches themselves. Comfort with schedules and a willingness to speak up during rehearsals matter more than any previous production credit.
How are the practice sessions run?
Sessions are guided and hands-on. You build cue sheets, rehearse presenters with practice scripts, place cameras and set up a stream, with an instructor reviewing your choices as you go. Each module ends with a working document or recording you can keep and reuse.
Who teaches the modules?
Marcus Delaney leads stage and cues, including run sheets and live show control. Priya Raman teaches filming and streaming, and Jenna Kowalski coaches presenters on timing and rehearsal habits. Each instructor works in the area they teach, so examples come from real production routines.
What will I be able to do after finishing?
You will be able to gather the information needed for a quotation, write a run sheet, rehearse a speaker, plan camera positions, monitor a live stream and prepare a venue. Outcomes depend on practice and the events you take on afterwards. We do not promise jobs or income.
How much setup time should a launch allow?
It depends on the venue, the number of cameras and how much staging is involved. Module 6 teaches you to work backwards from doors opening, allowing time for power, access, cable runs and a full technical check. The venue preparation guide gives you a structure for those estimates.
How are recordings organised for delivery?
Module 5 covers naming files, separating camera and audio sources, and keeping a clear folder structure so the client can find everything. You practise preparing recordings for handover after the event, including what to note down while the show is still running.
Can I take a single module instead of the whole course?
The modules build on each other, starting with briefs and ending with venue preparation, and the curriculum page describes each one. If you want to focus on a particular area, such as filming or presenter coaching, write to us and we will explain what makes sense.
How do I ask about dates or enrolment?
Use the form on the contact page and tell us which modules interest you and what you hope to produce. An instructor will reply with details. There is no online enrolment or payment on this site, so all questions go through that form.
